چکیده

Purpose: To investigate the protective effect of vitexin on smoke inhalation-induced acute lung injury (SI-ALI), and underlying mechanism action. Methods: The ALI rat model was established by inhalation in a closed chamber. Survival rate, arterial blood gas analysis, wet-to-dry weight ratio tissues, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid protein concentration, tissue histology, oxidative stress inflammation level were evaluated. Expressions kinase C β (PKC β), p66Shc, phosphorylated p66Shc determined western blot or quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Results: Compared with group, alleviated decline partial pressure oxygen (p < 0.05), reduced exudation pathological damage, inhibited expression PKC β/p66Shc signaling pathway proteins, downregulated inflammation, ultimately improved survival rate SI-ALI rats 0.05).Conclusion: Vitexin attenuates alleviating via inhibition pathway. Thus, this compound is potential agent for treatment SI-ALI.

Polydatin Attenuates H2O2-Induced Oxidative Stress via PKC Pathway

Oxidative stress plays an important role in the pathogenesis of endothelial dysfunction, which is found to precede the development of diverse cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). The aim of this study was to observe the protective effects of PD against H2O2-induced oxidative stress injury (OSI) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and the possible mechanism of PD in OSI treatment. HUVE...

Time course changes of oxidative stress and inflammation in hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury in rats

Objective(s):Therapies with high levels of oxygen are commonly used in the management of critical care. However, prolonged exposure to hyperoxia can cause acute lung injury. Although oxidative stress and inflammation are purported to play an important role in the pathogenesis of acute lung injury, the exact mechanisms are still less known in the hyperoxic acute lung injury (HALI).   Materials ...

Sulforaphane attenuates acute lung injury by inhibiting oxidative stress via Nrf2/HO-1 pathway in a rat sepsis model

Sulforaphane (SFN), an antioxidant derived from cruciferous vegetables, exerts antioxidant capacity and protects organ against oxidative damage. However, the effects of SFN on sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI) have not been determined. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of SFN in sepsis-induced ALI and the role of Nrf2/HO-1 in this process. Rats were subjected to either sh...

Glabridin attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury by inhibiting p38MAPK/ERK signaling pathway

BACKGROUND Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a complication caused by pulmonary and/or external factors. In this study, we investigated the protective mechanisms of glabridin in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced ARDS in rats. RESULTS GLA treatment at dose of 30 mg/kg decreased LPS-induced lung W/D ratio and alleviated evident lung histopathological changes. Expressions of TNF-α and...
